My name is Richard Dahl and I have been teaching at Western Sierra since 2011. I love being able to teach both English and Social Science. In the past, I've taught 7th and 8th Grade English as well as 8th Grade History and AP Gov. I currently have the pleasure of teaching AP Lang and 8th Grade English. No matter what class I am teaching I am always challenging my students to sharpen their skills as critical readers and effective writers so that they can be engaged citizens. 

 

In addition to my work in the classroom I currently serve as the Social Science Department Chair and previously coached the XC and Track teams. Outside of work you can find me running, cycling, reading, cooking, and spending time with my family.
