Class Registration

February 2018

Dear Students and Parents / Guardians,

We are excited to let you know that class registration for the 2018-19 school year is just around the corner. The first step in the process is to make sure the School Mint account has been updated with whether or not the student will be returning this fall to Western Sierra. Contact Donna Walsh, Admissions Technician at for more information.

The next big step is to register for classes! We will be utilizing a paper version for the registration process. See the table below for dates of the course selection process for the student’s grade. As a school, offering the main courses necessary for graduation and college entrance requirements takes precedence after which additional courses will be offered to enhance our programs based on interest, staffing and resource allocation. Please be aware that changes may occur due to curriculum resources and staffing availability.

Several subject areas and grade levels have predetermined courses and/or recommendations which are also indicated in the process for review. Where there is choice, please make the choices based on the student’s current course of study and pre-requisite classes that are necessary for success. Please also be aware that although we offer multiple AP courses in the upper grades, consider a balanced workload.

Follow the steps below in order to be prepared to register on the appropriate day:

  • Review the transcript if the student is currently in Grades 9-11.
  • Review the Graduation Requirements and Four Year Plan if the student is in Grades 8-11.
  • Fill out the Registration Form for next year’s grade level: Clearly print name at top, add parent signature and student signature
  • Have the Registration Form ready for when the counseling office comes into the English class to get priority consideration.
  • If for some reason the student is not returning to WSCA, please indicate that on the Registration Sheet and turn it in as well. We will still need parent confirmation through the School Mint account.
  • We recommend that you get your own Registration Form copy from the website so it can be filled out and kept for the student’s records.
