This class builds upon the groundwork in Sports Medicine and Athletic Training to provide students with increased foundational knowledge in human Anatomy and Physiology, Pathology, Nutrition, Cardiology (with ECG Interpretation), Pulmonology, Laboratory Values, Diagnostics, Pharmacology, Pharmacodynamics, and Medical Education. The students will be practicing these skills under intense supervision upon each other and during their practical component. There will also be in-depth discussions in a seminar format of clinician health and well-being. The goal of this course is to fully prepare students for entry in to a medical career and university level work in a pre-medical (MD or DO), physician assistant (PAC), nursing (BSN), or paramedic (BSP) program. Prerequisites: Biology, Sports Medicine and Athletic Training, Integrated III. Recommended: AP Biology, AP Chemistry, and AP Statistics.
