Art / Yearbook

My name is Ms. Alissa Riggs. I earned a Master's Degree in Teaching and CA Teaching Credential at William Jessup University in 2026. This is my first year at Western Sierra and I am excited to join the team! I currently teach Middle School Art, Art Appreciation (High School), and Yearbook (MS, HS, & Honors). Prior to this position, I worked as a Substitute, Assistant Art Teacher, and Teaching Artist at various schools and summer camps. 

 

I am passionate about education, creativity, and storytelling in both my personal and professional life. I grew up loving all forms of art and studied Visual and Fine Arts for my undergraduate education. Painting, reading, writing, singing, playing piano, and attending theatre shows are just some of the creative activities I enjoy. I also enjoy taking walks in nature and playing games with my family and friends.
