You probably noticed that I have posters in the back of my room that each year my students sign - sort of memory boards. Since we won't be together in person, I decided to try something new. The link attached is to a google slides doc, and the slides are named by class. Write your name - write a note if you like - use whatever font or color you like - and I will print the pages out and put them on a poster for my 2019-2020 classes. (Not too big - leave room!) If your class slides get filled up, feel free to add in a new one.
I'm really going to miss you all next year (Unless you're in my class again!!) and this is just one way to make sure I never forget the great (Unique?) year we had...
Thanks guys... take care!

This is a reminder that you are able to submit missing assignments due since March 13 until next Thursday, May 28, for full credit. Assignments must be complete to earn credit.
Please check POWER SCHOOL not google classroom to determine which assignments you are missing. Just because something has been returned to you in Google classroom does NOT mean you received credit for it.
Check the box below to indicate you have read this message.

There are quite a few of you who are in the process of reperforming the Integration by Substitution assessment. We will continue to work on this during this period of distance learning. Once you have completed your practice work you can upload it here. π―
I will contact you by email to schedule a time to meet during my office hours and talk over your work. Once this is completed we can set up a time where I will send you your unique reperformance test and give you a time frame for completing it and returning it to me.
I have attached a copy of the practice questions if you can not find yours.
You should be able to look in Illuminate to see which sections you need to complete. If not, email me and I will let you know. Any section that is not at least a 3 is a section you will need to reperform.
Let me know if you have questions! π Stay safe out there!

We will work through several parts of a free response question this morning, looking at implicit differentiation and differentiating inverse functions.
Homework: In the packet from last class from the first set (2008) 16, 24, 28 from the second set (2003) 26 & 27
Added on to this post are some quick reference documents. They're written by a Calculus BC teacher, but have some good info for AB as well.

Welcome back! I hope you all had a nice spring break!
This morning we will be reviewing some concepts in differentiation.
1st period meeting: https://us02web.zoom.us/j/86477686645
3rd period meeting: https://us02web.zoom.us/j/85816475093
Below is a link to the specific problems we will do in class, and a larger packet containing problems you will do for homework. PLEASE DO NOT print out the packet - it is 19 pages long! Also, the numbers on the problems in the packet jump around a bit. We will be using some of these for our next class too, so if there are some in it that you don't remember how to do we will probably talk about them next time.
Homework: Finish any problems in class work we didn't get to. From the packet complete 8, 11, 12, 18, 21, 25 (this may change depending on how far we get)

Today we are going to review continuity and the Intermediate Value Theorem. We will use the linked worksheet in class.
Homework: Complete the Unit 1 FRQ A assignment that is posted in AP Classroom. I will be assigning these more often as homework to prepare us for online testing, and to get a feel for FRQs.
I would also like everyone to sign up for the Calc Medic Calculus review course at the link below. This is a brand new review course that normally costs $30 per student, but is being offered for free this year.

This Monday, we will be meeting on Zoom at 9:00 am (1st period) or 9:45 am (3rd period). Our topic for today will be finding the volume of a 3D solid when we know the shape of its cross section. Get ready to think 3D!
Thanks for a great session today. Below are links to videos of our class sessions and a copy of my class notes. I will upload homework solutions tomorrow. If you have questions please stop by office hours tomorrow at 1-2.
Also below is a link to a Khan Academy video on the same topic. He does a really nice job of illustrating what these objects look like, so take a look if you want another perspective or a preview before our session.
πWork due by end of day on Tuesday, 3/24:
πVolume with Known Cross Sections worksheet. You can print out the worksheet or just copy the problems on another sheet of paper. Complete work contains a sketch of the graph, a complete written integral expression, and an answer. You may use your calculator to evaluate the definite integral.

As mentioned before, if you are planning to reperform or extend on our last test, you need to submit your completed practice problems. As I receive them I am emailing you comments (or a video) about your work.
Once your practice is complete, we will schedule a time when I will email you your unique reperformance or extension test. You will have an agreed on amount of time to complete it and email an image of it back to me.
Also, if you are attempting to earn a B or an A on this assessment, your test must be returned signed by a parent or other responsible adult to indicate that you completed the test without outside assistance, beyond your calculator. Without this signature you can still earn a C and pass the assessment, but you can not extend beyond that grade.
Let me know if you have questions!

On Wednesday, we will be meeting on Zoom at 9:00 am (1st period) or 9:45 am (3rd period) to begin working on a new unit that will introduce topics in finding area and volume using integration. We have just finished all the material for Differential Equations last class, and will move into this new unit. Please rest assured that we will be moving slowly through this material, and I will do my best to break it in to smaller pieces. Even with this change to our learning environment, I am confident that we will cover all required material for the AP Calc test.
Below you will find a link to our Zoom video call. Please make sure you select the link for your class period.
